Vaughter’s Farm provided the perfect backdrop for Emily + Jordan’s winter engagement session. Vaughter’s Farm is always one of my favorite locations around the Atlanta area. It feels so out of the city and helps my couples fully relax and lets their love shine through. The lighting at Vaughter’s Farm is always PERFECT, even in the winter. The sun casts a warm, golden glow over everything it touches. The perfect setting to frolic through a field and giggle with your best friend.
I love exploring downtown Atlanta for engagement sessions with my couples. Downtown Atlanta engagement sessions provide so many different backdrops and options, like this Atlanta Rooftop Session I shot recently. Andrea and Allen wanted to go with a moody city vibe for their engagement session, and the weather aligned perfectly for us. We started off twirling and dipping, ran through a few crosswalks, and then shot in front of a gorgeous, historic hotel.
Hannah and her husband were visiting Atlanta last fall from Ohio to rest and reset. The #1 thing Hannah wanted to do while in Atlanta was to take couples pictures in the city and I’m so glad I was able to help them out with that for this downtown Atlanta rooftop couples session. Hannah is actually a photographer herself, (you can find her over at https://www.joyflarephoto.com/) hit her up if you’re ever in the Ohio area 🙂 I am always so honored when another photographer reaches out to me for photos, and this was no exception.
Since they were from out of town, Hannah asked for my opinion on locations, and we headed downtown to one of my favorite Atlanta parking decks that has a gorgeous view of the SkyView Ferris Wheel.
Spring is a wonderful time for engagement photos, especially if you love waterfalls and outdoor adventures. Last spring, I had the opportunity to capture a playful and romantic engagement session at Toccoa Falls, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. The photos truly capture the essence of the couple and exude a sense of joy and love.
Toccoa Falls provided the perfect backdrop for this engagement session. With its majestic waterfall cascading down from a height of over 180 feet, it created a stunning and picturesque setting. It had been on my bucket list to shoot at Toccoa Falls for a while, and the lush greenery and vibrant colors of spring added to the overall beauty of the location, making it well worth the wait.
Summer evenings are a perfect time to capture intimate and quiet moments during engagement sessions. These sessions are special because they allow couples to express their love and emotion in a serene setting. For Jen and Montana’s engagement session, we chose a quiet park by their house in Flowery Branch, Georgia and we had the absolute perfect evening together. The warm, gentle light of the setting sun added a magical touch to the photographs and gave us the perfect glow.
The best thing about taking pictures for your friends, is that you can make a day out of it if you want, and that’s exactly what we did for Cristina and Mj’s downtown Chattanooga engagement session. My husband, Ryan, came with me and we all met up for brunch at Stir- they have the best chicken and waffles and $2 mimosas so what more could you want??? After, Ryan and I went to the Chattanooga Zoo, while Cristina and MJ got ready for pictures, and then we met up by the iconic Walnut Street Bridge. Since it was a Saturday, we had to deal with CROWDS of people, but Cristina and MJ killed it and I was able to work a little photoshop magic.
I loved taking this fall engagement session with Meghan, Simon, and their two pups. We were actually able to take the photos at a farm, in Dawsonville, Georgia, where Meghan would ride her horse. The owner was so kind to let us use their property for pictures, and I know it was super special to Meghan to take pictures in a location she loves, especially, since they were buying a house and planning a big move to Colorado. For the first part of the session, they were able to just hang out and play with their dogs which is so fun. I always want my couples to feel natural and comfortable behind the camera, and doing an activity you love together is such a good way to do that! Although when we tried to take pictures without the dogs, I don’t think the pups were too happy about that. They were always trying to wander over to join in lol. I’m so glad I was able to follow them to Colorado to shoot their wedding photos and get to see their sweet pups again!
I headed up to North Georgia with Alex and Becca to capture their gorgeous engagement photos. Sorry for the self-praise, but I’m obsessed with them as a couple and how the photos turned out. They were laughing and giggling together the whole time, and were always down for my ideas and suggestions. I hope y’all enjoy look through these as much as we enjoyed taking them!!! Also I love this location so much, the light here is just stunning!!
Louis reached out to me back in February to find a date that would work for him to surprise his girlfriend Taylor with a proposal at Chateau Elan. Taylor and I were in the same sorority back at UGA, and she had mentioned to some of our mutual friends and hinted to Louis that she would like for me to be there to capture it when he proposed. How sweet is that? ? I am always so honored to capture such big and special moments, especially when it’s for people I know.
